Selection process

Applications are handled through the framework set out in the Chhattisgarh Industrial Development Policy 2024-30, in this order:

  • Step 1 — Application submission: The enterprise files a formal application with the designated authority, typically the Department of Industries or another nodal agency in Chhattisgarh. The application sets out the proposed R&D centre, identifies the land or building to be bought or leased, and explains how the project qualifies as an R&D centre under the policy.
  • Step 2 — Document submission: Supporting papers accompany the form. These generally include incorporation certificates, a project report for the R&D centre, details of the land or building acquisition, and any declarations or undertakings the policy calls for.
  • Step 3 — Scrutiny and verification: The department reviews the application and documents in detail. This stage may involve a site visit to confirm the R&D centre is in place, or interviews to clarify project details.
  • Step 4 — Approval and sanction: Once verification is complete and the application is approved, the competent authority issues a sanction letter granting the 100% stamp duty exemption. That letter is the official document used to claim the waiver.
  • Step 5 — Deed execution and registration: With the sanction in hand, the enterprise executes and registers its land or building deed and avails the full exemption on the terms the policy specifies.
