How to Apply for Wastewater Treatment Capital Subsidy — ₹5Cr for ETPs/CETPs

Approval rests with the Department of Industries, Government of Maharashtra, or an agency it designates. Every proposal passes through the same set of checks.

• Proposal submission: the unit files a project proposal covering the planned ETP, CETP or STP, its estimated capital cost, and the plan for reusing treated water.
• Documentation review: submissions are examined for completeness and eligibility, including company registration, the project report, environmental clearances and financial statements.
• Criteria assessment: reviewers look at the nature of the plant proposed, whether it sits in an eligible industrial area, and the applicant's commitment to the 25% water reuse condition.
• Prioritisation: projects are ranked on their environmental impact and their contribution to sustainable industrial development.
• Final approval: selection depends on the availability of funds at that point, along with verification of everything submitted.
• Reimbursement: once the plant is built and both eligible expenditure and reuse compliance are verified, the subsidy is released.
