Selection process

Applications are collected and processed by District Fisheries Development Officers (DFDOs) in the relevant district.

The District Level Screening Committee (DLSC) then reviews the applications. That review generally covers three things:

  • Verification that the applicant actually meets the stated eligibility conditions.
  • An assessment of whether the proposed aquaculture project is feasible.
  • An evaluation of the applicant's experience in fisheries.

Shortlisted applicants may be put through a further round of evaluation before a final decision is taken. Those who are finally selected are approved both for the subsidy and for credit linkage with a bank.
