Frequently asked questions
How much money can my enterprise actually receive?
It depends on which size slab you fall into. A micro enterprise gets ₹5,000 per person for up to 10 people, capped at ₹50,000. A small enterprise gets ₹10,000 per person for up to 20 people, capped at ₹2,00,000. A medium enterprise is reimbursed 100% of the employer's EPF contribution, up to ₹1,00,000 per year for three years. Across the scheme, payouts range from ₹5,000 to ₹3,00,000.
Is there a last date to apply?
No fixed cut-off. The scheme runs on a rolling basis, so applications stay open throughout the policy period instead of closing on a particular date. Since the benefit is a reimbursement, though, the sequence matters — you incur the training or EPF cost first and file the claim afterwards.
Who is eligible to apply for this reimbursement?
Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises that are registered under the MEDP 4.0 and FPP 4.0 policies are eligible. Farmer Producer Organizations, Self-Help Groups, Federations and Cooperatives can also apply, provided their investment size fits the scheme's conditions.
Do I need DPIIT recognition or MSME registration to apply?
DPIIT recognition is not listed as a requirement for this scheme. Eligibility is framed around the enterprise being registered under the MEDP 4.0 and FPP 4.0 policies and falling within the relevant size slab. Proof of enterprise registration is one of the documents you submit along with the claim.
Does the government take an equity stake in my business?
No. This is a reimbursement and subsidy scheme, not an investment. You spend on skill upgradation or EPF contributions, the state pays back a defined portion of that amount, and no shares or ownership in your enterprise change hands.
What exactly does the reimbursement cover?
For Micro and Small units, it covers costs incurred in upgrading the skills of employees, supported by invoices and training certificates. For Medium units, it covers 100% of the employer's contribution to the Employees' Provident Fund, backed by EPF contribution records.
How long do Medium enterprises keep receiving the EPF benefit?
The EPF-linked reimbursement can be claimed annually for three years, with each year's claim capped at ₹1,00,000. Micro and Small enterprises work differently — they get a single, one-time reimbursement rather than a recurring one.
What documents will I need to file a claim?
You will need proof of enterprise registration, and then evidence of the expenditure you are claiming: invoices and training certificates if you are claiming skill upgradation, or records of EPF contributions if you are a medium enterprise claiming the provident fund benefit. The full document list is set out in the policy guidelines.
How and where do I apply?
Start with the official policy documents — MEDP 4.0 and FPP 4.0 (2024-29) — published on the Andhra Pradesh Industries Department website at https://www.apindustries.gov.in/Incentives/Index.aspx. Review the application guidelines and forms, assemble your registration proof and expenditure records, and submit the completed claim to the authority named in the policy. The claim is then verified and approved by the implementing agency.
