A dedicated committee or nodal agency makes the final call. The test is whether the proposed investment genuinely improves energy efficiency, whether the application is complete and compliant with the guidelines, and what impact the project is likely to have. Applicants who clear the process are notified, and the subsidy is released as a lump sum once the post-approval formalities are closed.
