Assessment is a verification exercise: the department checks that the applicant genuinely qualifies as a micro, small or medium enterprise, that it actually listed on a recognised SME Exchange, that its Udyam or DPIIT registration is valid, that the application reached the department within one year of the listing date, and that the expenditure claimed is of a kind the scheme permits.

Evidence is uploaded through the Investor Facilitation Portal and reviewed against the scheme guidelines and the prescribed document checklist. Where the review confirms that every condition is met, the stipulated financial assistance is released to the enterprise. Applications that fail any of these checks do not receive support.
