Who can apply
The Women’s Economic Empowerment program targets startups with a clear potential for significant social and economic impact. It supports ventures developing scalable, high-impact AI and technology-enabled solutions specifically designed to address the unique challenges faced by women in India.
Solutions must demonstrate a tangible ability to positively influence the growth, predictability, and resilience of incomes for women across the nation, fostering self-reliance and economic stability. The focus is on innovations that improve livelihood outcomes for low-income women in both rural and urban areas, particularly those engaged in critical sectors such as:
- Agriculture and allied sectors
- Micro-entrepreneurship
- The gig economy
- The informal economy
Applicants should propose AI and technology-driven innovations that can be refined for intuitive usability and adoption by women, ensuring accessibility and impact for the target demographic. The program is open to startups at the product or revenue stage.
While applicants are not required to be a registered firm during the initial application stages, selection and subsequent support are strictly contingent upon the entity being formally registered in India. Eligible entity types include:
- Private Limited Companies
- Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs)
- Partnerships
- Proprietorships
- Section 8 Companies
- Trusts
- Societies
Startups that have previously participated in other programs or accelerators are explicitly welcome to apply, recognizing that prior experience can contribute to greater readiness and impact.
Women’s Economic Empowerment is open to startups at the product and revenue stage working in ai saas enterprise, edtech social impact and agri food rural. It is open to startups registered anywhere in India. Applicants should be registered as private limited, llp and partnership.
