Selection process
Allotment is handled by a dedicated Shop Allotment Committee. There is no pitch round or common merit test; the committee decides on the basis of two things — the shops available and the applications on hand.
Where applications outnumber the shops on offer, priority is given in descending order to the traders who have deposited the highest market fees over the last three years. A trader with a larger three-year fee record therefore ranks above one with a smaller record.
The committee's decision then results in the shops being allotted to the selected traders.
