Selection process
Decisions are taken within the MSME Department of Uttar Pradesh. Officials there review what has been submitted, and the assessment is expected to involve environmental bodies such as the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board, which is the agency that certifies ZLD performance.
Three things carry the most weight in that review:
- A working ZLD system delivering a waste recycling rate of at least 50%, backed by certification.
- The equipment cost quoted, which has to be reasonable for the assistance being claimed.
- Overall compliance with the requirements of the Uttar Pradesh Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Policy 2022.
Approval follows only once the department is satisfied on all of these counts, which makes the pollution board's certificate the pivot of the whole application.
