Selection process
Applications and enquiries first reach the RBI team, which then connects with the applicant.
- Application or first contact. You apply online through the departmental website, visit an RBI office at your district headquarters, or reach the team by email or phone.
- Office visit and assistance file. During a visit to the RBI office you receive personalised guidance on business development, the training programmes available and related services, and a detailed assistance file is prepared for you covering your business proposal and the assistance you need.
- Screening by the District Level Screening Committee. The file is evaluated by a committee of experts and representatives from relevant departments. The committee looks at how viable and innovative the business idea is, the applicant's entrepreneurial drive, the potential to create jobs, and how well the proposal aligns with the scheme's goals of fostering self-employment and reducing migration.
- Further discussions. Shortlisted applicants may be invited for additional discussions or presentations.
- Onboarding. Applicants who clear the screening are officially onboarded as incubatees and begin receiving tailored support and services under the HEARTS framework.
No fixed duration is published for these stages, and intake is continuous rather than tied to a single batch.
