How much financial assistance does Tejaswini-the Radiant offer?

Who is eligible for this scheme?
Women who are domiciles of Jammu and Kashmir, aged 18 to 35, who are unemployed and registered with the concerned District Employment & Counseling Center. You also need to be registered with Mission Youth, J&K, hold at least a 10th standard qualification, and not be a defaulter to any bank or financial institution. An enterprise can also apply if women hold not less than 50% of its financial holding.
Does the scheme take equity in my business?
No. Tejaswini-the Radiant is soft finance, which is a form of debt. It does not take any equity or ownership stake in your venture, so your shareholding stays intact.
Can I apply if I already run a business?
Yes. The scheme supports both setting up a new unit and the expansion or modernisation of an existing one. Note, though, that a woman can seek assistance under this scheme only once.
What can the funds be used for?
The money is meant for fixed assets — equipment, furniture and fixtures, and plant and machinery — as well as for working capital, so you can purchase the products, tools and equipment your business needs.
Do I need DPIIT recognition or MSME registration?
Those are not part of the scheme's stated eligibility conditions. What the scheme asks for is J&K domicile, registration with Mission Youth, J&K, and registration with the District Employment & Counseling Center.
Is prior training mandatory to apply?
It is not mandatory, but preference may be given to women entrepreneurs trained at Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (R-SETIs), Skill Development Institutions, or any other recognised training institute.
Is there any income limit for eligibility?
