What is TECHNOVA?

TECHNOVA is a technical innovation challenge organised by Chennai Institute of Technology. How much prize money does TECHNOVA offer?

Who is eligible to participate in TECHNOVA?

Students enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate programmes at recognised colleges and universities are eligible. There is no department or specialisation bar, so participants from any stream can enter. The competition is open only to college students.

What is the allowed team size, and can I team up with students from another college?

A team can have one or two members. Mixed teams are permitted, so you are free to partner with someone from a different college or a different department.

What happens in Round 1 of TECHNOVA?

Round 1 is the Tech Rapid Fire round and lasts 20 minutes. Teams answer fast-paced technical questions on AI, Machine Learning, Cyber Security, Programming, Data Science, Cloud Computing, Networking and general technology trends. The highest-scoring teams qualify for the next round.

How does the AI image generation round work?

Qualified teams get 30 minutes and a surprise theme. They must create an original, visually striking image using the AI image-generation tools approved by the organisers, and then briefly explain their prompt, their creative approach and how the image relates to the theme.

Does TECHNOVA take equity or a stake in my idea?

No. TECHNOVA is a competition that awards cash prizes, not an investment programme, so nothing is taken from participants in return for the money.

Do I need DPIIT recognition or MSME registration to enter?

No. The programme details list no such requirement — the eligibility conditions are simply that you are a college student and that your team has one or two members.
