Who can apply

To be eligible for the Technology Development Board (TDB) India-Finland Joint Innovation Call 2026, the applying entity must be a commercial for-profit company.

This company must be duly registered under either the Companies Act of 1956 or the Companies Act of 2013 in India. Furthermore, it is a strict requirement that the company establishes and maintains its primary headquarters and operational base within the geographical boundaries of India, with a minimum of 51% of its ownership stake held by Indian citizens.

A crucial condition for eligibility is the establishment of a mandatory bilateral R&D collaboration with a company registered in Finland, demonstrating a clear partnership intent. The Indian company applying for this call is also mandated to serve as the designated Indian Project Lead (IPL) for the entire duration of the collaborative project.

Entities such as Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs), sole proprietorships, One Person Companies (OPCs), and traditional partnerships are explicitly not eligible to apply for this program.
