What is SheBuilds 2026?
SheBuilds 2026 is a 12-hour hackathon exclusively for girls, organized by Newton School of Technology in Bengaluru. Participants build tech solutions for real-world problems and create joyful tech experiences.
How much funding or prizes are offered?
The total prize pool is ₹30,000. The 1st place team receives ₹20,000, and the 2nd place team receives ₹10,000, along with winner certificates and exclusive goodies.
What is the application deadline?
The registration deadline is April 20, 2026.
Who is eligible to apply?
The hackathon is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students from recognized institutions. Teams must have 1 to 4 members, and cross-year and cross-discipline teams are allowed. A valid college ID is mandatory.
Is there any specific sector or industry focus?
The hackathon has two phases: Phase 1 focuses on real-world problem solving in areas like campus problems, social impact, productivity tools, or AI-assisted systems. Phase 2 focuses on fun and joyful innovation such as mini-games, creative AI tools, meme-based products, or innovative UI/UX concepts.
Does the program take equity?
No, this is a hackathon with cash prizes and certificates. No equity is taken.
What documents are needed to apply?

What is the format of the hackathon?
It is a 12-hour, single-day hackathon on April 24, 2026. The first 6 hours are dedicated to Phase 1, followed by a checkpoint demo, then 6 hours for Phase 2. Teams must submit both prototypes and a combined presentation by the end of Hour 12.
Is DPIIT recognition required for SheBuilds?
No. DPIIT (Startup India) recognition is not listed as a mandatory requirement for SheBuilds, though having it can strengthen your application and unlock other benefits.
