What exactly is Samvedna: A Sustainable Idea?
It is a national case study competition built around sustainability and social impact, organised by Krishi Chanakya, the Agribusiness Club at MANAGE, Hyderabad. MBA students work through a real-world business case and present a solution that is socially useful as well as commercially viable. The entire contest is conducted online.
How much money can a team win at Samvedna?
The prize pool adds up to ₹35,000. The winning team takes home ₹20,000, and the runner-up receives ₹15,000. Teams that reach the national final round are also given a certificate recognising their finalist status.
Who is eligible to take part?
Any student who is currently pursuing an MBA at a recognised institution in India. The contest is national in scope, and no restriction by specialisation, sector or state is mentioned in the rules.
Can I enter on my own, or do I need a team?
Both are allowed. A team can be made up of one or two members. If you enter as a pair, the two members have to belong to the same institute.
Is there a limit on the number of teams one college can send?
No. There is no restriction on how many registrations come in from a single institution.
What is the last date to register?
Registration opens on 25 July 2026 and shuts on 10 August 2026. All entries go through the official Unstop listing for the competition.
How does the judging work, and what are the rounds?
There are three rounds. Round 1 is an online quiz of 30 questions to be completed in 25 minutes, with free navigation between questions. Round 2 is an elimination round in which teams receive a case study and submit a presentation of 3 to 5 slides, excluding the introduction and thank-you slides. Round 3 is the national final, where shortlisted teams present before a panel of judges, whose call is final.
Do I need DPIIT recognition or MSME registration to apply?
No. Samvedna is a competition for MBA students rather than a government funding scheme for registered startups, so DPIIT or MSME registration does not figure in the eligibility criteria.
Does the competition take equity in my idea or venture?
No. The rewards on offer are cash prizes and a certificate, and the contest does not ask for any stake or ownership in a team's idea.
