Frequently asked questions

How much funding can I get from RGSRY?

Eligible applicants can take a loan of up to ₹3,00,000 for their project. On top of that, the Government of Delhi provides a subsidy equal to 15% of the project cost, subject to a maximum of ₹7,500 per entrepreneur.

Is this a grant, or do I have to repay it?

It is a loan, so the amount has to be repaid. The repayment runs over 5 years through equal quarterly instalments, and the subsidy of up to ₹7,500 is adjusted against your loan account two years after disbursement.

What is the repayment schedule and is there a grace period?

The loan, along with interest, must be cleared within 5 years in equal quarterly instalments. Principal recovery starts only after a 12-month moratorium from the date of disbursement, but interest begins accruing from the first quarter.

Does the scheme take equity in my business?

No. RGSRY is a debt scheme — you receive a loan that you repay with interest over the five-year tenure. There is no equity stake taken in your venture, so ownership stays entirely with you.

Who is eligible to apply for RGSRY?

Applicants must be between 18 and 50 years of age. The scheme covers unemployed youth, skilled professionals, artisans, school and college dropouts, individual entrepreneurs, trade professionals and small-scale industrial units, as long as the enterprise is located in the NCT of Delhi and falls under a permissible industry in the secondary, tertiary or services sector.

How much of the project cost do I have to fund myself?

You need to bring in at least 10% of the project cost as your own contribution. For applicants from weaker sections — SC/ST/OBC/PH, women and ex-servicemen — this requirement is reduced to 5%.

Is there an application deadline?

No. RGSRY runs on a rolling basis throughout the year, and applications are dealt with on a first come, first served basis, so it is best to apply as early as your project proposal is ready.

How do I apply for the Rajiv Gandhi Swavlamban Rojgar Yojna?

You can apply online at rgsry.co.in by registering with your Aadhaar number, name, email, mobile number and date of birth, then logging in with your Aadhaar number and password to complete and submit the mandatory fields in the application form. Once verification is successfully completed, you become eligible to receive the scheme's benefits.

What support do I get apart from the loan amount?

The scheme also provides marketing support, which includes displaying your products at Delhi Emporium, access to DSIIDC and cooperative stores for manufacturing and branding, and the chance to participate in trade fairs and exhibitions.
