Prasunethon 2.0 — National Online Hackathon with ₹1,05,000 Prize Pool — Frequently Asked Questions

The total prize pool is ₹1,05,000, shared across the five best-performing teams. First place receives ₹50,000, second place ₹25,000, third place ₹15,000, fourth place ₹10,000 and fifth place ₹5,000.

College students, freshers and working professionals can all enter, and there is no restriction on academic discipline. The only practical requirement is access to a laptop and an internet connection, since the entire hackathon is conducted online. Cross-disciplinary teams are encouraged.

Both are allowed. You can register as an individual participant or as part of a team, with a maximum of three members per team. Teams that bring together different skill sets and study backgrounds are particularly welcomed.

You choose the problem you want to solve. Projects can involve Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Web Development, Mobile Applications, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, IoT, Blockchain and other emerging technologies. Suggested themes include Healthcare Technology, Education Technology, Smart Cities, FinTech, Agriculture & Rural Development, Sustainability & Climate Tech, Cybersecurity, Social Impact & Accessibility, and Open Innovation, along with Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning.

Registration closes on 14 August 2026. Entries are made through the official Unstop listing for the hackathon, so it is best to complete your registration well before that date.

There are three rounds, all conducted online. Round 1 is an idea submission covering the problem statement, proposed solution, technology stack, expected impact and project roadmap. Round 2 involves building a working prototype and submitting source code, documentation and a presentation or demo video that shows feasibility and scalability. The Grand Finale has finalist teams presenting before a panel of technology professionals, researchers and industry experts. Projects are scored on Innovation & Creativity at 25%, Technical Implementation at 25%, Problem-Solving Approach at 20%, User Experience & Design at 15%, and Scalability & Impact at 15%.

No. Prasunethon 2.0 is a competition with cash prizes, not an investment or funding scheme, so no equity or ownership stake is taken in any participant's work.

No. The eligibility criteria do not include DPIIT recognition or MSME registration. Entry is open to students, freshers and professionals, either as individuals or in teams of up to three members.

Winners are given certificates, internship opportunities with Prasunethon 2.0, networking with industry experts, project showcase opportunities, and recognition on Prasunet's official platforms.
