Selection process
Selection happens across two judged rounds rather than a single application screening.
Stage 1 — Registration. Teams register through the official Unstop page between 10 July 2026 and 16 August 2026.
Stage 2 — Pune Qualifier (21 August 2026). Problem statements are released on Day 1 across six sectors — Government, Social, Defence, Healthcare, Technical and Industrial. 100 teams compete here, split into 70 ESM and 30 Design entries.
Stage 3 — Shortlisting and refinement. The top 30 teams (20 ESM + 10 Design) advance, and get about two months — August to October — to turn their qualifier concept into a product-grade solution. The problem statement stays the same as in Pune.
Stage 4 — Grand Finale (24 October 2026). Finalists present at IES 2026 in New Delhi.
Across both stages, evaluation follows a rubric-based format, with each team assessed by a panel of three industry experts. Altogether, 48 professionals take part in the judging panels.
