FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much funding does the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana offer?

Eligible women can borrow as much as ₹60,000. That sum may cover the whole cost of the proposed business or trade — up to 100% of the project cost — so you are not expected to arrange matching capital from your own pocket.

What interest rate applies, and how is the loan repaid?

Interest is charged at 4% per annum, which keeps the cost of borrowing low. Repayment runs across 48 months in instalments of equal size — four years of predictable monthly payments.

Who can apply for this scheme?

The scheme is limited to women who live in Gujarat, belong to the Thakor or Koli caste, and are aged 21 to 50. The household's yearly income must not be more than ₹3,00,000, the applicant must have relevant technical skills and experience in the trade she proposes, and suitable collateral has to be provided.

Is there an application deadline?

No. GTKVN runs this scheme on a rolling basis and accepts applications throughout the year, so you can apply whenever your plan is ready. There is no fixed last date to work towards.

Do I need DPIIT recognition or MSME registration to apply?

Neither appears among the scheme's requirements. What GTKVN asks for is proof of Gujarat residency, a caste certificate confirming Thakor or Koli community membership, an income certificate, age within the 21 to 50 band, evidence of skills and experience in the proposed trade, and collateral that satisfies the Nigam.

Does the scheme take equity in my business?

No. This is a debt scheme, so GTKVN lends you money that you repay with interest over 48 instalments. The Nigam takes no ownership stake or share in your venture.

Which documents must I upload with the application?

Typically you will need your caste certificate (confirming Thakor or Koli community membership), an income certificate, your Aadhaar card, a recent passport-size photograph, the first page of your bank passbook, and proof of residence. All should be scanned copies.

How do I apply for the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana?

Applications are made online. Go to the GTKVN portal at gtkdconline.gujarat.gov.in and click "Apply Now" on the main menu. Pick Mahila Samriddhi Yojana from the list of schemes, choose the loan category that fits your business and enter the amount you need. The form collects personal details such as name, gender, date of birth, caste and addresses, your family income and its source, the loan sum requested, and how the funds will be used. Bank details are captured so the loan can be disbursed directly. Upload your documents, verify everything using the Preview option, submit, and save the Application ID you receive for tracking.

Are any types of business excluded from funding?

The scheme does not list restricted industries. It supports small businesses and trades that draw on the applicant's own skills and experience, with self-employment as the objective.

Do applicants from lower-income families get preference?

Yes. At least half of the total loan amount sanctioned under the scheme is earmarked for families whose yearly income is up to ₹1,50,000. The selection committee is also directed to give special consideration to lower-income households.

Is collateral compulsory?

Yes. An applicant has to pledge suitable collateral to secure the loan, and the review team assesses whether what is offered is adequate.
