Jharkhand Startup Policy: Sustenance Allowance — Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the Jharkhand Startup Policy: Sustenance Allowance, startups must meet several key criteria:

• The applicant startup must be officially registered within the state of Jharkhand. This ensures the program directly benefits the local economy and contributes to job creation within the state.

• The startup's annual turnover, as per its latest financial statements, must not exceed ₹25 Crore. This criterion is in place to focus support on early to mid-stage startups, ensuring that larger, more established companies do not benefit from this specific allowance.

• The startup should have been incorporated less than 5 years ago from the date of application. This age limit targets startups during their crucial formative years, a period when financial stability is often most challenging.

• The startup must have a maximum of 50 employees at the time of application. Similar to the turnover cap, this limit ensures the program supports small and emerging businesses.

• The startup must be actively operated by full-time founder(s) who are fully dedicated to working on the venture. This requirement emphasizes the commitment of the founding team to ensuring their startup's success.

• Eligible legal entity types include private limited companies and Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs).

• The program supports startups across various development stages, including idea, product, revenue, and profitable stages.

Jharkhand Startup Policy: Sustenance Allowance is open to startups at the idea, product, revenue and profitable stage. The programme is targeted at startups registered in Jharkhand. Applicants should be registered as private limited and llp.
