Frequently asked questions

What is Innovate 4 Impact?

It is a national innovation challenge focused on social impact, organised by the IEEE WIE Affinity Group at Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) College of Engineering, Pune. Undergraduate students form teams, choose a problem area and build a technology-led solution, which is then assessed through a structured, multi-round process.

Who is eligible to take part?

Any undergraduate student who is currently enrolled at a recognised institution in India. Students from engineering and interdisciplinary domains can both apply, and the organisers encourage teams to mix disciplines. You will need a valid college or institute ID card to participate.

What are the themes or tracks?

There are three: Healthcare, Wellbeing & Accessibility; Women's Safety & Empowerment; and Smart Technology & Innovation.

How large should my team be, and is a female member compulsory?

Teams must have 2 to 4 members, and at least one member of every team must be a woman. All members have to belong to the same institution, so mixed-college teams are not allowed, and no individual can be part of more than one team. After Round 1, the team line-up is locked and any change requires the organisers' approval.

What are the important dates?

Registration closes on 20 July 2026. The challenge itself runs from 6 July to 7 August 2026.

How much prize money is on offer?

The published listing does not specify prize amounts or a list of rewards — the value is shown only as "varies". Teams should follow the official Unstop page for any announcement about prizes.

Do I need DPIIT recognition or MSME registration?

No. DPIIT or MSME registration is not part of the criteria here. This is a student competition, so entry depends on your enrolment and your team rather than on a registered company.

Does the challenge take equity in my idea?

No. Innovate 4 Impact is an innovation challenge for students, and the listing makes no mention of equity, a stake or an investment in any participant's venture.

What do I need ready before registering?

The listing calls for a valid college or institute ID card as proof that you are currently enrolled at a recognised institution in India. No other documents are specified.
