Frequently asked questions
What is IgniteX HackFest 2026?
It is an online hackathon organised by H & P Projects. Innovators from across India are invited to design and build technology solutions, then submit them for judging during the competition window. The event is conducted entirely online and is aimed at encouraging creativity, problem-solving and technical advancement.
Who is eligible to take part?
The hackathon is open to students, developers, researchers and technology enthusiasts anywhere in India. The key restriction is on how you enter rather than who you are: every participant competes as an individual. There is also no DPIIT or MSME registration condition, and no company or entity type is required.
Can I participate as part of a team?
No. Participation is individual only, and team entries are not permitted. All work you submit has to be your own original project, developed by you as the sole participant.
What is the last date to submit my project?
The final date for submission is August 10, 2026. The hackathon itself opens on July 12, 2026, so you have that full window to build. You need to register and submit your project before the deadline closes.
How much prize money is on offer?
The organisers have not disclosed specific prize amounts. Winners receive prizes and goodies along with winner certificates, and every participant is given a participation certificate regardless of where they place.
Does the hackathon take equity in my project?
No. This is a competition, not an investment. Nothing is invested in your venture and no stake or ownership is taken in your project or company.
What themes or domains can I build for?
You can choose any of these areas: Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Generative AI Applications, Industry 5.0 & Smart Manufacturing, Internet of Things (IoT), Robotics & Automation, Cybersecurity, Smart Cities, Healthcare Technology, Sustainable and Green Technologies, Blockchain & FinTech, Education Technology, and Agriculture Technology.
What do I need to submit?
Your entry should include your source code or project files, a project report or documentation, and a presentation or pitch deck. A demo video is optional but can be added. Make sure the work is original and developed by you.
How will my project be judged?
Submissions are evaluated on five criteria: innovation and creativity, technical implementation, real-world impact, scalability and feasibility, and presentation quality. Strong scores across these areas determine who wins prizes, goodies and winner certificates.
