The programme offers a CSR grant of up to ₹25 lakh. The top-performing startups in the cohort can receive that larger amount, subject to performance evaluation criteria, while a general CSR grant is provided to each startup that is selected. Your startup must be registered and operating in India, with one of the founders holding Indian citizenship. It must have a functional MVP or a demonstrated proof of concept at TRL 4 or above, must have been incorporated within the past 10 years, and must be working on a social, environmental or developmental challenge that fits the programme's objectives in an eligible sector.

Applications close on 15 September 2026. Onboarding of the selected cohort follows, and the programme itself commences in October 2026.

No on both counts. The funding is a CSR grant, so it is non-dilutive and no equity is taken. There is also no application or registration fee for submitting your application.

Neither is listed among the programme's published eligibility criteria. What the criteria do require is Indian registration and operations, an Indian-citizen founder, an MVP or proof of concept at TRL 4 or above, incorporation within the past 10 years, and a fit with one of the eligible sectors.

Four areas are in scope: waste management and recycling, green manufacturing, cleantech and environment-friendly solutions, and sustainable and indigenous products. In practice this covers energy-efficient and low-carbon production, turning agricultural, industrial and consumer waste into value-added products, renewable energy, water and wastewater management, air quality improvement, climate-resilient innovation, and ventures that responsibly use regional raw materials, traditional knowledge and local expertise.

Yes, at least at the proof-of-concept level. The programme expects a functional MVP or a demonstrated proof of concept rated TRL 4 or above, rather than an idea on paper.

The cohort comprises 16 impact-driven startups. Selected ventures receive nine months of structured incubation: one-on-one mentoring from IIM Calcutta Innovation Park and its expert network, customised technical bootcamps, masterclasses and knowledge webinars, business diagnostics, mock pitch sessions and business roadmap development, plus investor pitching opportunities, fundraising support, market access and networking with industry leaders and ecosystem partners.

Applications are submitted online through the programme's official apply link, and no fee is charged. After submission, your application goes through an eligibility screening, then an assessment by domain experts and jury members. If shortlisted, you will typically be invited to a pitch presentation, and the final cohort is selected based on the comprehensive ratings from all these stages.
