Frequently asked questions

How much can I borrow under the New Swarnim Yojana?

Eligible women can take a loan of up to ₹2,00,000. That amount can be used for the business or occupation of your choice, whether you are starting fresh or expanding something you already run.

What interest rate applies, and how long do I get to repay?

Interest is charged at 5% per annum. The loan, including the interest, is repaid through 60 equal monthly instalments.

Do I have to put in any money of my own?

No. The scheme finances 100% of the business or occupation amount, so there is no beneficiary contribution to arrange. The money itself is assembled from two sources — 95% from the National Corporation and 5% from the State Government.

Who is eligible to apply?

The scheme is open only to women. You must belong to a nomadic or denotified caste, your family's annual income must stay within ₹3,00,000, and you should be between 21 and 50 years old on the date you apply. Prior experience in a technical or skilled trade or business is also required.

Is there a deadline to submit the application?

No. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and the scheme stays open throughout the year, so there is no fixed cut-off date to beat.

Does the scheme take equity or a stake in my business?

No. This is a debt scheme, not an equity investment. The support comes as a loan that you repay with interest, so you keep full ownership of your business without any dilution.

Do I need DPIIT recognition or MSME registration?

Those are not among the conditions listed for this scheme. Eligibility turns on caste, family income, age and trade experience rather than startup or enterprise registrations.

What documents are needed with the application?

You will be expected to provide proof of identity, proof of address, a caste certificate, an income certificate, age proof and evidence of your business or trade experience. The online form also asks for personal details such as Aadhaar number, date of birth and caste, education and course details where relevant, assets owned, and full bank account particulars including account number, bank and branch name, MICR code and IFSC code.
