How much funding does GENESIS EIR 3.0 offer?
The programme provides financial assistance to selected entrepreneurs and early-stage startups, and the money is channelled through the participating incubators. Is there an application deadline for GENESIS EIR 3.0?
No. The programme runs on a rolling basis and applications are live, with submissions reviewed on an ongoing basis. You can apply at any point rather than waiting for a particular window to open.
Who is eligible to apply?
Any Indian citizen can apply — aspiring entrepreneurs, innovators, researchers, students, and founders or co-founders of early-stage startups. Your proposed innovation needs to fall within an emerging technology in the Electronics, IT, ICT or DeepTech space.
Do I need to be an incorporated company, or have DPIIT or MSME registration?
You do not need to be incorporated to apply; individuals such as researchers and students are explicitly welcome. If your startup is already incorporated, it must be under two years old as on the date of application. DPIIT or MSME registration is not listed among the requirements for this programme.
Does GENESIS EIR 3.0 take equity in my startup?
Which technologies does the programme prioritise?
The focus is on emerging technologies within Electronics, IT, ICT and DeepTech. That includes AI/ML, IoT, Semiconductor and VLSI, Cybersecurity, Blockchain, Quantum Technologies, AR/VR, and Spatial and Immersive Technologies — the list is indicative rather than exhaustive.
What stage must my idea be at?
Innovations should be at TRL 1 to TRL 4, which covers ideation, proof of concept, prototype, MVP and early validation. This is an early-stage programme, so you are not expected to arrive with a scaled product or established revenue.
My startup is in a small city — am I eligible?
Yes, and in fact that is the target. The startup must be based in a Tier-II or Tier-III city, so founders building outside the major metros are exactly who this programme is designed for.
I have already received a government grant. Can I still apply?
Yes, as long as the financial assistance you have received from any Central or State Government scheme for the same proposed idea or startup does not exceed ₹10 lakh. If it is above that ceiling, you would not qualify for the same idea.
How do I apply, and what goes into the form?

You will need to fill all mandatory fields with details of your entrepreneurial background, your proposed innovation, its technology readiness level and its potential impact, and then pick a Preference 1 and Preference 2 from the list of MSH-empanelled GENESIS incubators inside the form.
