Frequently asked questions
How much financial help does the E-Thela Sahaayata Yojana actually provide?
The package has three parts. The Chhattisgarh Unorganized Worker State Social Security Board gives a grant of ₹30,000, the worker contributes ₹10,000 towards execution costs, and the remaining cost of the e-thela is provided as a bank loan.
Do I have to pay the money back?
Only the loan portion. The ₹30,000 from the Board is a grant and is not repayable. The amount extended as a bank loan, however, has to be repaid by the beneficiary along with interest within the timeframe and at the rate the bank decides.
Who is eligible to apply?
The scheme is open to unorganized workers registered with the Chhattisgarh Unorganized Workers State Social Security Board who currently operate hand carts. Applicants must be between 18 and 50 years old and must have been registered with the Board for at least 90 days. Commercial vehicle drivers also need to produce a valid health certificate from the RTO.
Do I need DPIIT recognition or MSME registration?
No. The scheme does not ask for DPIIT recognition or MSME registration. What matters here is registration with the Chhattisgarh Unorganized Workers State Social Security Board, and maintaining that registration for a minimum of 90 days before applying.
Is there a last date to apply?
No. The scheme runs on a rolling basis and remains open throughout the year, so there is no fixed deadline to beat. You can apply once you meet the registration, age and eligibility conditions.
Can I take this benefit more than once?
No. Each eligible worker can avail this scheme only once, so the benefit is a one-time support for the purchase of a single e-thela.

What documents will I need?

The loan component will also need the bank-related documents the lender asks for — and remember that the ₹30,000 grant is only released after these loan documents are submitted and processed.
