How much money does the IPS handicraft artisans scheme give?

Who is eligible to apply?
You need to be a handloom and handicraft artisan or a self-employed person resident in Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, above 18 years of age, and from the SC, ST, OBC or EWS category. You must also be working in one of the 27 activities the scheme covers and stay within the income ceiling of ₹2,00,000 for rural residents or ₹2,50,000 for urban residents.
Do I have to repay the amount, or does the scheme take equity?
No. This is a grant, so nothing has to be paid back and no interest applies. The scheme does not take any equity or stake in your work either — the assistance is simply provided in the form of the tools and equipment you need.
Which trades and activities are covered?
The scheme lists 27 activities. Among them are carpentry, tailoring, pottery, cobbling, plumbing, mobile repairing, beauty parlours, vegetable vending and milk-and-curd selling. Is DPIIT recognition or MSME/Udyam registration required?
No such requirement is listed for this scheme. Eligibility rests on your status as a handloom and handicraft artisan or self-employed worker, your residence in the Union Territory, your age, your community category, the activity you practise, and your annual income.
What is the last date to apply?
There is no fixed last date. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and the scheme remains operative until May 2027, with the guidelines stating May 19, 2027 as the end of the period. Applying early is still advisable.
Is there an age limit?
Yes. Applicants must be above 18 years of age.
What documents do I need to submit?
You have to upload the mandatory supporting documents with the Common Application Form, including proof of residency, proof of age, proof of community category, proof of income, and evidence that you are engaged in the relevant trade.
How do I apply for the scheme?
Applications are made online through the Single Window Portal at swp.dddgov.in. Register an account with your personal and contact details, verify your email through the link sent to you, verify your mobile number by entering 111111 as the OTP, then log in with your registered mobile number and the PIN emailed to you. From the left-hand menu, open Departments & Services, scroll to District Industries Centre DD & DNH and click through to the Investment Promotion Scheme: 2022 to 2027. Fill in the Common Application Form, upload your documents, review everything and submit.
