What exactly is the Cyber Nexus Hackathon?
It is an innovation competition for students, run by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Delhi, and hosted under the Secure Bharat Summit 2026. Teams compete in four technology tracks, first through an online presentation round and then through an on-campus prototype round.
How much prize money or funding is on offer?
The organisers have not published a fixed purse, so the amount is listed simply as varying. What is confirmed is that winning teams receive prizes and rewards, all participants and finalists get certificates, and finalists gain mentorship, judging exposure and networking with industry experts, plus possible internship opportunities.
Who is eligible to take part?
Any undergraduate or postgraduate student studying at a recognised college or university in India can enter. There is no restriction on branch or specialisation, so students from any stream are welcome.
Can I apply on my own, and how big can a team be?
No, entries are team-based only. A team must have at least 2 and at most 4 members. Teammates can come from different colleges or different specialisations, and such mixed teams are actively encouraged.
Which tracks can I build my solution in?
There are four tracks: Cyber Security, Blockchain, Agentic AI and Generative AI. You may build within a single track or work across more than one of them.
Do I need DPIIT recognition or MSME registration to apply?
No. The criteria here are academic rather than corporate — what matters is that you are a student at a recognised Indian institution. Neither DPIIT recognition nor MSME registration is listed as a requirement.
Does the programme take equity in my idea or venture?
No equity is taken. This is a competition, and the returns are certificates, prizes, mentorship and recognition rather than investment in exchange for a stake.
What is the application deadline?
Registration closes on April 29, 2026. Before that, the online slide-deck round opens on April 17, 2026, and the final prototype round takes place on May 2, 2026 in Delhi.
What should my Round 1 submission contain?
Your presentation should set out the problem you are addressing, the solution you propose, what makes it unique, the technology stack behind it, the use case you are targeting and the impact you expect it to deliver. The best 25 teams are shortlisted from this round.
How do I apply, and what happens at the finale?
Every team member registers through the official platform linked from the programme page. Shortlisted teams then travel to GGSIPU-EDC, Delhi, for the finale, where they demonstrate a working prototype or MVP and are judged on implementation, scalability, technical architecture and business or social impact, with mentorship and networking part of the day. Carry a valid college ID card, and make sure your idea and prototype are original — plagiarism leads to disqualification.
