Labor Mobility Partnerships (LaMP) is running a global competition to find and support startups that are making labor migration safer, fairer, and more scalable across South and Southeast Asia. With around 24 million people from Asia and the Pacific engaged in labor migration, and countries like the Philippines sending nearly 2.3 million workers abroad in 2023 alone, formal safe pathways are still rare. Meanwhile, aging OECD economies face labor shortages in construction, hospitality, healthcare, and manufacturing. LaMP sees this as a massive opportunity — labor mobility could become a ₹2.3 lakh crore+ industry. The competition seeks startups that facilitate worker mobility across borders (recruitment, placement, service management), offer enabling services like finance, pre-departure training, language preparation, compliance, housing, remittances, or reintegration support, or expand existing solutions into skills verification, credential recognition, or worker welfare platforms. Top three winners each get a ₹9.3 lakh cash grant, mentorship, visibility, and network access.

Startups must offer cross-border labor mobility solutions for workers from South or Southeast Asia, serving destinations within the region or globally. Applicants need to have a registered business and adhere to ethical labor migration principles. Solutions at any stage from idea to MVP are welcome, though traction is a plus. There are no restrictions on industry, state, entity type, or DPIIT/MSME registration.
