Build With Bharat 2.0 — ₹1,00,000 Hackathon at NIT Delhi — Frequently Asked Questions

It is a national-level hackathon run by the CodeVerse Community together with NIT Delhi. The build phase happens offline over 24 hours at the NIT Delhi campus, and participants come from colleges all over India to work on solutions to real-world problems. Entries are accepted from undergraduate and postgraduate students in any branch or specialisation.

The overall prize pool for Build With Bharat 2.0 is ₹1,00,000, which is shared among the winning teams. On top of the cash prizes, eligible participants receive participation certificates, goodies and swags, mentorship through the event, networking with industry experts, and internship and career opportunities wherever partners make them available.

Any student currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate programme in India can apply. There is no restriction by branch or specialisation, so engineering, design, management and other streams are all welcome. You can enter either as part of a team or on your own.

Both routes work. Teams must have between two and five members, but solo participation is allowed. Teams may also be mixed — members can come from different colleges or different specialisations, which is expressly permitted.

Registrations close on 1 September 2026. It is worth registering well before that date, because after signing up teams still need to submit their project idea in the prescribed PPT format to be considered for shortlisting.

The grand finale runs offline at NIT Delhi on 12–13 September 2026, and it is a 24-hour build. Only shortlisted teams are invited to the campus for this round; everyone else takes part through the earlier online phases of registration, team formation and idea submission.

You can pick from Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Web and Mobile Development, Blockchain and Web3, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things (IoT), Open Innovation, or Sustainability and Social Impact. There is no requirement to stick to a single domain if your idea spans more than one.

Shortlisting looks at how innovative, feasible and impactful a submitted idea is. At the finale, finished projects are scored on six parameters: Innovation & Creativity, Problem-Solving Approach, Technical Implementation, UI/UX & Design, Scalability & Impact, and Presentation & Demonstration.

No. Build With Bharat 2.0 is a student hackathon rather than a startup funding scheme, so there is no requirement for company incorporation, DPIIT recognition or MSME registration anywhere in the programme. What matters is that you are a current undergraduate or postgraduate student and that your entry follows the team-size rules.

No. This is a competition with cash prizes and event benefits such as certificates, swags, mentorship and networking, so no equity stake is involved. Winners simply receive the prize money and the associated participant benefits.

Registration happens through the official Unstop portal. Once registered, teams submit their project idea in the prescribed PPT format, and shortlisted teams are then invited to the offline finale at NIT Delhi. Applications are open until 1 September 2026.
